Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has refused to comment on speculation that Victor Moses could be set to join Chelsea.
Moses has been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge but shrugged off speculation about his future to take to the field against the side he could be moving to.
He could not help Wigan avoid a 2-0 defeat at the DW Stadium, but showed glimpses of the form that has attracted Chelsea’s interest.
Martinez, though, is still adamant that the former Crystal Palace star’s valuation hasn’t been yet, and he is not desperate to offload him.
“Nobody can say that Moses will stay with Wigan,” Martinez said. “Every player has his valuation, from Cristiano Ronaldo to Moses – everyone has a valuation.
“If someone matches that valuation then you need to have a decision but until that happens it is business as normal.
“That hasn’t been an issue in the last ten days. In the last ten days we have had real normality with that situation and I hope that that doesn’t change because Victor is a top player.
“Nothing is going to be decided today.”
Di Matteo was similarly tight-lipped on any potential new offer for Moses, with Wigan so far refusing to sell the winger unless their valuation is met.
Martinez admitted it was a risk to start the 21-year-old with the speculation surrounding his future but was happy with Moses’ performance.
Martinez said, “He started a bit slow but I felt he grew into the game after that and started to look his normal penetrating self and he’s an important player for this team.
“Victor knows that if a club doesn’t want a player enough, it’s not a good move. I’m delighted Victor’s here, I’m delighted he showed he’s desperate to perform for our team.”
